Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically sound Finance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing receivables, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting month-end financial processes.

This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, high accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and update financial and accounting records in Sage.

- Post salary journals, rent schedules, and monthly adjustments.

- Perform monthly depreciation and maintain the fixed asset register.

- Issue receipts and post client payments into accounting software.

- Prepare and update receivables reports and reconcile customer accounts.

- Process and post WHT credit notes accurately.

- Prepare PAYE, pension, NHF, and NSITF schedules and ensure timely remittance.

- Manage annual statutory filings, business permits, and regulatory returns.

- Attend to tax audits and respond to regulatory queries when required.

- Raise vouchers, prepare cheques, and ensure proper documentation for payments.

- Support month-end closing and reconciliation processes.

Requirements

- B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

- 3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.

- Proven experience handling statutory payments and tax compliance.

- Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software.

- Strong Excel skills (reconciliations, pivot tables, reporting).

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
