Job PurposeThe Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, monitoring hospital revenue and expenses, and supporting the Finance & Accounts Department in ensuring proper financial control and compliance with hospital policies. Key Responsibilities:Record and process daily financial transactions accurately.Prepare and send invoices and statements of accounts.Process approved supplier and service-provider invoices.Ensure invoices are properly authorized before payment.Maintain records of outstanding supplier obligations.Assist with supplier account reconciliation.Prepare regular bank reconciliations.Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and hospital records.Maintain proper documentation of all banking transactions.Maintain confidentiality of staff financial and payroll information.Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.Provide accurate financial information to management when required.Maintain proper filing and retrieval of accounting records.Monitor revenue generated from consultations, laboratory services, pharmacy, admissions, procedures, and other hospital services.Identify discrepancies in revenue collections and report them promptly.Ensure all hospital income is properly accounted for.Perform other duties as assigned by the Accountant, Finance Manager, or Management. Required Qualifications:• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is an added advantage.• Minimum of 2–3 years' relevant accounting experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.• Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
